An Associate's Degree in Psychology can be obtained from an accredited university. This program allows for the students to obtain a degree with a strong foundation in the field of psychology and the many tools they need to become a successful professional psychologist. The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology has been considered a liberal arts education with many elective courses in which to focus on the discipline of psychology.
Students are required to fulfill the entire liberal arts major set forth by the university's psychology department and elective courses which are outlined by the university. The major that is chosen depends largely on the student's career goals and the area of specialization the student is seeking to enter into. Some students choose to specialize in one particular area of psychology, while others may specialize in their major and minor in psychology, which will result in a degree in many different disciplines within this discipline. Students can specialize within their major or minor, however they are still required to meet academic requirements, which are determined by their specific major and minor.
