BSC Chemical Engineering is an advanced graduate program in chemical engineering. This program provides students with the training required to handle laboratory experiments, analyze laboratory data, write reports, communicate effectively with both lab personnel and management, and to deal with different situations in the laboratory. The department has exceptional laboratory facilities for student study and lectures. They also provide specialized specialization in biological engineering program that blend traditional laboratory techniques and subjects in the physical sciences with specialized biochemical engineering labs and courses.

The BSC program offers a unique combination of theoretical and practical training in chemistry, biology, and computer science. Students are trained in basic concepts in all these areas to be able to apply their knowledge and skills in chemical synthesis, modeling, analysis, and design of biochemical processes. The BSC curriculum integrates both laboratory-based and classroom learning to create a well-rounded program that covers all areas of engineering in one degree program.

Most students pursue a bachelor of science degrees in the BSC program. However, the BSC program also provides master's and doctorate programs. Some students may choose to combine the Bachelor of Science in the BSC with an advanced master's degree, and some may opt for a BSC with a doctorate degree in chemical engineering. Students must apply to the corresponding BSC program as an individual with the appropriate academic record but may take courses from more than one BSC program, as long as they meet minimum GPA requirements.

Upon completion of the BSC program, students must complete a series of examinations to qualify for the Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Some of the prerequisites for this degree program include a solid academic history in all areas of the physical sciences, mathematics, and computer science, and an examination to determine the ability to carry out research and communicate with laboratory personnel in a professional manner. Additional requirements that must be met before students can enroll in an examination include a good grade point average, a mastery of English, and completion of all prerequisite courses in physics, chemistry, and computer science.

BSC Chemical Engineering students are trained in both laboratory-based methods of chemical synthesis and design. The BSC program is designed so that students will have a clear understanding of the various procedures involved in the synthesis and design of biochemical processes. The focus of these laboratory activities is on providing practical knowledge of the techniques and processes necessary for the synthesis of chemicals in order to obtain useful products and services. The laboratory-based courses include the synthesis of biological chemicals, analysis, purification, isolation, identification, and separation of chemical species, and their applications.

Students who successfully complete the BSC program may wish to take a graduate course that focuses on designing pharmaceutical and nutritional processes or on the development and application of medical devices. In addition, students may wish to take a course in biotechnology or other environmental engineering. In order to achieve certification as an experienced engineer, students must pass two examinations, known as the Graduate Engineering Entry-Level Examination (GEEL). Graduates of the BSC program are eligible to apply for jobs in the fields of pharmaceutical, food and agricultural, environmental, and biomedical engineering. As well as BSC certification, BSC graduates may want to enroll in the Joint Apprenticeship Program (JAP). With the JAP, they will learn the trade skills necessary to work in several different industries.
